Sunday morning Bible class allows youth an opportunity to meet each Sunday from 9:30-10:30 am for Bible study and fellowship. We meet in the Northwest lower level classroom.
Additional Opportunities for Youth
- Mission trips and service opportunities, which encourage youth to be of service to others.
- Fellowship events, retreats, and other trips that facilitate fellowship and focus on building relationships while growing in the Word.
- District and National Youth Gatherings bring youth from many congregations to one location for fun, worship, faith-formation, service, and growth.
Pre-Confirmation
Pre-confirmation instruction for our 5th and 6th grade youth is led by our Vicar (student pastor) on Wednesdays during the school year. In this class, youth go beyond Sunday school as they learn THE STORY of the Bible. This class gives an important foundation in the Old and New Testaments prior to Confirmation classes.
Confirmation
Confirmation instruction for our 7th and 8th grade youth is led by Pastor Schultz on Wednesday evenings during the school year. We learn the faith as drawn from the Scriptures according to Luther’s Small Catechism. Youth will also take part in service projects and retreats. After considerable study, they will be given the opportunity to make a public confirmation of the faith into which they were baptized.
First Communion Prior to Confirmation
This program is for youth, 5th thru 8th grade, who desire to receive the gifts of God’s grace in the Lord’s Supper prior to Confirmation Sunday. The instruction, led by Pastor Schultz, is held annually for interested families on mutually accepted dates and times. Upon completion of the instruction, and the affirmative decision that the youth is spiritually ready to receive Holy Communion, they are invited to receive their first communion.
