Laughter is an Encouraging Sign of the Presence of God

May 12th 2011 by Eden Keefe

Rich Bimler and son, Bob, authored a book entitled Let There Be Laughter, published by CPH. In Chapter 32 they share this insight: God gave humans the ability to laugh. ... Laughter is a gift based on the joy we have in Christ Jesus. It is grounded in the gift of faith won for us by Christ's death and resurrection. It breaks tension, lifts spirits, set people at ease, builds bridges, creates positive mind-sets toward life, and keeps people healthier by releasing endorphins throughout the body.

Laughter is a sign of God's blessings. In the Old Testament, countless stories are told of the joy of God's people. Verses such as Psalm 126:2 "Our mouths are filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy," are echoed over and over throughout Scripture.

Laughter is a sign that we are enjoying God's blessings. ... Rejoice, laugh, celebrate - for God is with us!
