Eat Dessert First!

The idea "eat dessert first" is something that has been touted in recent years. However, it is not really a new concept. I recently read a devotion that talked about the Hebrew people's victory banquets during OT times. Naturally, you would think that such a banquet would be held after the victory was won. However, they held them before the battle even began. Wow! They understood that they were God's chosen people and that they could count on their God. "Celebrating the battle's outcome was simply a matter of celebrating God, acknowledging His power on their lives, and walking by faith in the victory provided before the battle was even fought." We too, are a chosen people, created by the hand of God, redeemed by our Savior Jesus and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. We can sit down at the victory banquet each and every day because we already have the victory! Praise Him today for that great gift. Praise Him for what He will do in our lives. Praise Him using Psalm 100:4-5!
