Raising them up in the way they should go
For our 3 yr. olds – 8th grade classes we use the CPH curriculum Growing in Christ.
The senior youth studies are chosen and prepared by the Youth Board. Currently the college class is facilitated by four lay leaders and topics vary.
Things you should know
The Sunday School office is located at the bottom of the stairs if you need help. Classrooms have signs by the doors Parents with three year olds through second grade please drop off and pick up your children at the classroom. Other useful information:
- All children in preschool through eighth grade will need to have an enrollment form filled out. (can attach form / link)
- Sunday school classes will take attendance and offering. Attendance will be rewarded with small gifts being given after attending ten class periods in a quarter. During our openings children will have the opportunity to give money to the Sunday school offering.
- During the openings we do a special penny collection for those children who have a birthday. If the child’s birthday occurs you will want to send your child to Sunday school with the number of penny’s for the number of years in their age.
- We want the parents to be aware of our discipline policy to help make the Sunday School a fun environment for all children. Our policy is modeled after Matthew 18.
- Make them aware: We will explain the rules to the children and be consistent with positive corrections to help the child succeed.
- Asking for help: When a teacher has a child who isn’t able to adapt to the positive correction, they will seek assistance from Sunday School Director Lynn Kosberg or Sunday School Administrator Jennifer Mahnken.
- Take it to the parents: If we have given the child some guidance and still are unable to get the approved behavior, we will ask parents to assist with the task.
Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And he laid his hands on them and went away.
